Brush Up:Your French

Sarah Scribner

Brush up on more than bronzer. Take tips from Eugenie on the latest. This Suisse is a go to for her neutral consideration of what is next in makeup&advice to bring out your best. I am fortunate to have her locked down on WhatsApp, although would rather take a plane to see her smile&explain what's well at the cosmetics counter. I won't be giving out her number, though follow to pose questions after your watch her channel. Her eye for color, considerable knowledge of brands&mastery in application make it worth remembering why you took huit years of French.

Miraculous Transformation

Sarah Scribner

Dear Sarah,

Because of you everyone thinks the couple pounds I gained has caused me to look younger &improved the tone of my skin.

I almost believed it myself but then I paused; stopped &thought before grabbing a handful of carbs.

It was you all along, the Miracle Skin Transformer made a complete sweep: hydrated, primed, enhancing of even my eyes. I make it through the day protected from the sun shining above without shining bright as it keeps me matte through the night.

Best Regards,

Thom

P.S. patting is my preferred method of application to cover imperfections with this medium as the product diffuses with the effect of skin being blended to perfection

Crashing Class

Sarah Scribner

Par-oozing around the New York University campus on West 4th and Mercer I began to observe the scene. For a business education, or experience in management I would need a key(card). This is the key that would unlock the knowledge that keeps students in debt as they enter their alumni years in an economy without roles for an increasingly educated workforce.

If one can gain acceptance and have the financial stability to endure the cost of obtaining a masters degree in a dwindling economy then that extra term of education can be seen as a chance to wait for change. (Sorry for the anti Obama reference, I am into Obama, but that wrote itself). The noticeable problem those outside of this generation see is that 20-something's change their minds too fast to ensue a real career path. Partially related to the portrayal of 20-somethings on the HBO show "Girls" the reality of Lena Dunham's work has put a microscope on a generation. A group with a combination of willingness to adapt to challenges that come along, as well as the problem of choice. We have the ability to tune our talents towards so many outlets that we can continue in the cycle of spin at the laundry mat and be amused, as long as we have an iPhone and running shoes

Pulling the student card is like opening a master card, the bill is bound to show up. Existing in Brooklyn in an era of expansive entrepreneurship due to living in a creation economy lead me to homeschool (which I had the experience of during 8th grade). For a day in the fall semester, I felt it best to pursue mathematics as statistically speaking, the mathematics building is the simplest building to crash.

The courtyard created by buildings on a block is where we find ourselves, back at the scene, school, a place my mother said in my post graduate haze is where, "education is wasted on the young." Each building with different obstacles to their admission, beyond the process of applying, for someone like myself looking to crash class. Business and management both require key cards which an alumni of Steinhart suggested, "could be obtained by offering one of the students a little cash." Not having cash to spare for this experiment I did what needed to be done, smiled politely and slid past security. Comparably the smile is the same one used to get into a party with a fake, one skill undergrads are sure to master. Once past the line there were elevators to take, hallways to explore and class schedules to figure out. There I found myself at a class on algorithms.

The New York Public Library branch on Jersey Street does not even ask to collect late fees. When spending the day downtown this is an ideal place as the transition to Cafe Columbe is a simple stroll up Lafayette. In one afternoon I can go from brushing up on Art History to reading Woody Allen's defense on insanity (The Insanity Defense). Using Penultimate, a fun application designed by Evernote, I can take notes with a stylus to help "study" for exams I do not have.

Uptown at Marymount, I crash Philosophy of Death, my notes on that are quite scribbled in my moleskin but a point I have taken away from my horrible penmanship is:

As we are the result, the reality of the environment we inhabit on the day to day. The observation of ourselves, our time, coincides that as we exist our thoughts divide into new boundaries of the mind. The essence of this totality of being - picking up debris as the sole of our shoes step in the street taking us to a place above two feet, as we accumulate days.

Hunter College is tight with security but once inside it is the holly grail of printing pages in a world that won’t have enough trees to produce paper for all the future readers. I would not trust the sushi bar, instead cross the bridge between buildings to take in talent the English department has teaching. A fiction workshop I dropped in on with a friend, has been a glimpse into realm of writing I never studied. Taking away advice without the commitment of staying in school to improve on my work has been inspiring to say the least. It also makes me tell the "kids" that they are really lucky and to, intern, travel and work well.

School often alludes to those tempted to break rules, such was the case of crashing class I was attempting to orientate myself into for a Film&Video education. A spring snow storm and the observation of mixed mediums at the Armory show delayed my F train departure to arrive late BRIC. Pleading to use the ladies room as leverage to be buzzed behind closed doors, concluded with me following signs to orientation. The security chick caught me as the professor discussed bending the rules, not breaking them. With a guilty grin I proceeded to leave not wanting to cause a scene in front of a cute classmate who left to complain about boring orientation to security as I begged to replace his now empty seat. In my formal education where funds fell to obtain a degree, tardiness was often overlooked, here I was unable to obtain orientation due to the F train and Andre Masson, thus I flunked.

Salman Khan created an Academy on the Internet using technics and his previous access to an incredible education at MIT and Harvard Business. Leaving work in finance to share knowledge beyond his family which inspired him to found a model which intends to act as a private tutor. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as well as Google was proud to stand behind this project  to curate educational content. I am surprised not more are aware of this. As a Class Crasher (&general Celebration Crasher) it is strange to be telling public school teachers I am acquainted with about the possibility to use this as a tool to track students progress as they have limitations to time spent one on one with a child. It is formatted in a way digital natives will relate to as they can receive rewards of badges for work done. If crashing class is not your cards, the Khan Academy and Luminosity are applications downloadable direct to your iDevice. Luminosity will illuminate your brains ability as the program trains you to challenge your cognitive capabilities. If paying for a program will help to make it routine after the free trail then go ahead, games are played with a certain amount of satisfaction from the feedback. The experience will make you recall SAT’s as you are given your percentile in the BPI (Brain Performance Index).

My postgraduate education has simply reminded me of the way school is a model for life. While within that structure it can feel enclosed from the real world, but the correlation between class and corporation is evident. Adverts on the commute remind us of what keeps society turning as well as our community obligations:tax season is soon. Collecting change at the cafe reminds us why we can calculate without calculators. Email correspondence is communications, relying on language arts send a message as well as tally what isn't done on our to-do list. What is in(the)box, we must do. Morning news, is the morning meeting to ensure we are all on the same page. We take notes at work because we are dictated too. We form teams to break up what is due. We take tests because in life we are expected to give answers. So on and so forth this goes on in the streets where we are continuously schooled to the rules:regarding the signs, discussing and interpreting what is on our minds.

Juice Justification can be complicated but a psychological factor behind paying up to ten bucks for a blend is that you will want to stay on trend, even if that means supplementing other parts of your day with less expensive healthful meals. There is less reason to have a mid day cookie carb crash or to negate the time spent running. If you are committed to not squeezing to zip your shorts, commit to your food budget. Sensible spending and eating can carry on to a change in better behavior when you are able to balance the two. As time is value, the time to consume something to energize your life lasts on legs. The body's need to spend energy&societies need to spend bread have arrived at an intent: to fresh press to stay on track to Squeeze Sense.

Scientology pamphlet being read by one on downtown trains reads, "70 percent of life is work" this is something to beg to differ. 100 percent of life is work because it is a constant choice to meet what society has set. Absurdities have been picked up as tactics to get away with the lack of self regulation to the rules we set. To avoid a static state live well within the ways we have built to remain recreating. Noting that unless you are not learning everyday from the accumulation of actives you are participating in then you are living in a Scientological State of 70 percent or known in academia as, the letter C.

Anger of Birds:Alleviated

The birds are not angry in Mexico CIty. In fact they are quite content. In Parque Viveros you can receive a tree for free to ensure that the altitude combined with population driving in pollution has enough oxygen. It also gives the birds a place to be. Of course the birds are everywhere in Mexico. They do not just sit on trees, they are worn on t-shirts which are perfect attire for the musical that hair was conditioned to soothe split ends for a date which made&kept in an agenda that later their would be cake. During the show fruit snacks had to be snacked as sneaking them in next to your keychain in the sack is what the makers of the application in Finland would love to see. Angry Bird Application, take over to the extreme, how far some game of sling shots took the brand to be. Lighting up the room no longer just on an iPhone, birds became candles for night, perhaps during bubble bath time. In the morning with socks on feet, up in the air on a kite they meet the trees. No longer angry are these birds, because they are not free.

Quitting Smoke 4 Mirrors

Sarah Scribner

smoking #kills american #spirits

smoking #kills american #spirits

As humans we mirror the methods and ways of those around us. Behavior adopted by our socialization can be undone by focusing on our own reflection.

Quitting to smoke cigarettes, without desire to return to old ways has changed my day to day. Through a series of self-directed techniques I feel it is time to share the method to the madness that has allowed me to let go a year ago. This experience took me from close to a pack of Marlboro Reds a day to sitting in church on Easter Sunday.

It began in Palm Beach where I was doing some interior design work with a friend.  Having arrived in Florida on an earlier flight I sat outside the terminal bumming smokes. Something people in New York are not so thrilled to lend, but with the price being something close to a third of what is paid up north, my terminal friends were happy to oblige.

Skipping ahead to sitting on the beach inhaling puffs of smoke I was thinking as many smokers think, it was time to surrender my beloved habit. I still say it to this day, I was a profound smoker, I woke up to light up and I left the party when my pack was in the trash.

A quick survey of those reasons included the vanity that although the same size as my beach companion, her ability to ride a bike made her bikini look better from behind. Then of course comes the price. I would be saving something to the figure of $372.00 per month.

Could I save the money and not ruin my figure by substituting empty calories for the cigarettes I used to puff? This is a concern many woman have, so I made the first step to approached my mission to quit like a diet.

By changing habits around I was able to shift my behavior and withdraw from my addiction to nicotine. This brings me to what I identified as possible triggers.

Life.

On a more serious note, breakfast, lunch and dinner followed by a smoke is a habitual pattern smokers get into. Lighting to signal that a meal is over, or to distract yourself from continuing a plate of pasta or avoiding awkward dinner conversation is what cigarettes do. Something simple to do, that will please your dentist will be to carry floss or a travel toothbrush and paste to use after meals.

To fine tune your eating habits to food that will not trigger smoking is extremely important during this phase. Engaging in healthful eating habits will help exemplify why you are letting go of the cigarettes for a clutch.

Accessories, such as a purse enable us to live a certain lifestyle. By toting a bag big enough for more than what I really needed, I had room for cigarettes, which I could not carry in a clutch.

This is your chance to carry a clutch normally not used because you can't cram a pack inside with your other necessities . Consider it a fashionable statement to give anxious hands something to hold on to.

Another accessory I developed a healthy habit for was a Bobble. A water bottle that filters tap water acted as my new cigarette.

Hydration will help as you are going to run to take control of your lungs again. The runners high is satisfying and for those who are young and already moderately in shape it becomes quickly achievable. It will also help to manage stress if you pick up the habit as you coax yourself off cigarettes.

You should process my experiences and your own relationship to cigarettes to find inspiration inside of yourself to quit. It doesn't have to be a scenario where your parents or significant other is placing guilt on you. This is about changing patterns in your behavior because it is time for you to let go of something you no longer want or need in your life.

One thing that smoking enables is for over-thinkers to over-think. So think about what you would rather be doing other than smoking outside in the cold this winter. Perhaps using that monthly cig expense for a flight to LA.

So before you book that flight:

Look in the mirror as you smoke. Savor the feeling of fullness that comes into your lungs during your remaining allotted time as a smoker. This is when you can begin to reflect on your behavior up close and personal. The moments you have shared with others are no longer an option once you decide to quit. Remove the social aspect and only engage in smoking as an act of solitude. Once you are no longer having a smoke with every friend you have, you will have automatically cut back.

Then you can begin to test yourself. Go to dinner with a non-smoking friend who knows your plan. Get drunk. You will probably beg someone for a smoke. It's fine. Smoke it but feel bad about it. Have your friend make you feel bad about it. Enjoy it, because that was your last time. The next time you replay this game you will have to make it from dinner and drinks to bed without a smoke.

As you are on your way to bed, lets handle the sex question. The trick here is to make sure it's good enough that you just cannot make it out of the bed of the non-smoker lucky enough to be used to pass another test.

Fill up your week with tests to gage how you will handle triggers, find yourself naturally letting go of the process and of your last pack. Understanding that past behavior predicts future behavior, I came to the conclusion that the experience had not escaped me. Youthful curiosity turned habitual, could be compiled to memory.

Change your brand, the American Spirits in pale green packaging worked for me. They were so unenjoyable I have 16 left in a pack thats in my kitchen drawer to remind myself that I made a choice.
